KENTUCKIANA MOTORSPORTS PRESENTED BY LUCAS OIL

Merry Christmas from Kentuckiana Motorsports!

In a matter of days, the new year will be upon us! That means a new racing season. You can bet all levels of racing are already preparing for the season ahead. We hope everyone takes time now to celebrate the real reason of the season. And along the way, also reflects on 2022.

In NASCAR, we know Joey Logano won the top prize in the Cup Series. Ty Gibbs took home the Xfinity trophy. Zane Smith edged out Louisville's Ben Rhodes for the Truck Championship. And in the ARCA Series, Nick Sanchez claimed the season championship. Congrats to all competitors. After a rough couple years during the pandemic, it was good to see "normal" again.

Locally, someone we've featured in the past, battled strong competition in the Lucas Oil Great American Stocks at the Salem Speedway (Indiana). Like so many locally, David Bayens loves racing. His hard work landed him the 2022 Championship. It would not have been possible without his team and crew, family, and more importantly, sponsors. Salem Speedway is truly an historic track. We congratulate David and all who raced there this season.

Closer to Louisville is the short flat track that attracts strong crowds every Saturday. The Sportsdrome Speedway is celebrating nearly 80 years of racing! The competition in 2022 was very stout. Some divisions were decided by only a few points. Just like NASCAR, Indy Car, and other major series, each race counts. Points are so valuable. We want to applaud the newly crowned champions, teams, crew, families, and again-sponsors. There are many divisions. Here are the drivers who took home the titles! Sportsman: Austin Williams, Figure 8: Ricky Puckett, Oval: Derek Smith, Modified Figure 8: Mike Berry, Powder Puff: Maranda Jane, and the Combination Champion: Jacob Robertson.

Local racing is fun. A great family value. Any business in Kentucky and Southern Indiana can join in the excitement. For that matter, any person can too! Local drivers need sponsors. They welcome people to be part of the team. And so do local tracks. The Sportsdrome Speedway has a fun VIP Suite for sponsors, and other ways you can support racing and see what racing is about! Simply pick up the phone. And if you want to get involved in a local track or team and aren't exactly sure where to start, email us. We'll be glad to send you in the right direction.

The NHRA also awarded 2022 titles! In that Lucas Oil sponsored series, Brittany Force won Top Fuel, Ron Capps the Funny Car, Matt Smith took home the Pro Stock Motorcycles Championship, and Erica Enders the Pro Stock Division title.

The 2022 Indy Car Series Championship went to Will Power and Max Verstappen took top honors in Formula 1.

This holiday season drive safely. There will be many cars and trucks out one the road. If you've enjoyed Kentuckiana Motorsports over the past 20 years, you know Lucas Oil has been a huge backer of all we do. You'll need some of its products in your car or truck this winter! We thank Lucas Oil as a longtime sponsor. We're able to talk racing locally and in other ways, thanks to Forrest, Charlotte, and Morgan Lucas and the entire Lucas Oil Family. Other backers: PNC Bank (Sponsor of Scott Dixon's Indy Car Series Car), Sportsdrome Speedway (Celebrating more than 75 years of Racing!) locally owned Bright Pest Control and Bright Retail in Louisville, (Offering Do-It-Yourself Professional Pest Products with a retail store), and Knox Ford in Radcliff (KY). KMS supporters also include: VoiceTel Kentucky (Offering telephone service for $25.00 a line, and that includes all taxes and fees), Temco Roofing, Andriots Paint, Flooring, & Blinds, ICA Dumpsters, Kentucky Raceway Ministries, St. Matthews Cycling, Nimlok Kentucky, Dynamic Healthcare, and Lyndon Mower Repair. We also thank our media connections in all series, especially NASCAR and with NASCAR Media for helping us bring the sport to the fans!

And remember, in the cold of the winter-- farmers, ranchers, and fisherman will be working. And many others will get out and enjoy the outdoors. Lucas Oil has been a long-time the outdoors. You can learn more by visiting: www.protecttheharvest.com

Happy Holidays! Enjoy the racing!
