It's Back! North Wilkesboro! Before the stars of NASCAR take on Charlotte and the grueling Coca Cola 600 over the Memorial Day Holiday weekend, some NASCAR drivers will have a little get together at a historic short track about an hour-and- a-half north of Charlotte. This week fans will arrive for the weekend NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro. Jeff Gordon will drive the pace car to help start the race. Gordon won the last Cup race there in 1996. Locals in North Wilkesboro, state officials, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and many fans all helped bring NASCAR racing back to North Wilkesboro! We can't wait to see it!
It is going to be busy in Indianapolis between now and Memorial Day! The world will be watching as preparations are underway for the 107th running of the Indianapolis 500. Much like the Super Bowl, the Kentucky Derby, or the NBA Finals, celebrities and dignitaries will be out in force to witness the historic race! This past weekend, Alex Palou and Chip Ganassi Racing showed great power as Palou won the GMR Grand Prix on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. It was the Spaniard’s first win of the 2023 Indy Car Series season. Before the Indy 500 takes place, there will be some intense qualifying. May is always fun in Indianapolis.
The NHRA battles this weekend in Elwood, Illinois. It is a three-day weekend in the NHRA Route 66 Nationals. For two decades, Lucas Oil has sponsored Kentuckiana Motorsports. It is a mega backer of the NHRA. Watch the excitement on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2.

A big weekend is in store for the Sportsdrome Speedway in Jeffersonville, Indiana (Just 5 minutes from downtown Louisville). The Triple 25's for the Sportsman Division are scheduled! And there's a lot of other action too! It includes Figure 8 and Powder Puff events, and the Ford Oval Showdown! The Salem Speedway's next mega race is June 3: A CRA Saturday! Prior to that, a fun Drifting event is scheduled. Of course, mother nature can play games with racing and force events to be re-scheduled. Check track social media for last minute changes. And that includes the Ohio Valley Dragway. It is a 1/8th mile track about 25 minutes from Louisville along Dixie Highway in West Point, Kentucky. The Ponderosa Speedway is another great track, and its known as "Kentucky's Baddest Bullring". It is a short dirt track in central Kentucky at Junction City near Danville (About an hour and fifteen minutes southeast of Louisville). Drive south to Bowling Green (KY) and you'll enjoy Beech Bend. There is an amusement park, camping, and racing. The Beech Bend dragstrip brings in the fans and has a wide range of events. By the way when you go to local tracks, there is a good chance you'll see a Lucas Oil logo somewhere!
